There’s nothing wrong with K-pop of course but there is a lot of other excellent Korean music, of all genres, that is worth exploring. Here’s a quick roundup of stuff I’m listening to lately.

This mix of psychedelic rock and funk from the 60’s and 70’s is pretty great!


버닝 햅번 (Burning Hepburn) has been cranking out punk/ska for two decades.


킹스턴 루디스카(Kingston Rudieska) is a Skatalites influenced ska band that has also been around almost two decades.


OHHYUK is a Korean indie scene breakout and has established a global following for both excellent music and fashion.


Traditional Korean music (국악 상 음악) doesn’t get much international attention but it’s quite distinctive and interesting.
